She studied acting at The Stella Adler School of Acting in New York City, and attended the Physical Theatre program at Humber College in Toronto. Julia is co-founder of Violence in Motion, a film/stage combat training facility for performers. She has a Golden Retriever named Lt. Ripley, named after Sigourney Weaver's character in "Alien."
