He directed plays in many institutions and organizations. He first play Sokak ve Ölüm (Street and Death) he wrote and directed on October 06, 2001. Murat Ergün received very good critics from the world of art and theater with this play. Then he wrote and played his own tragedy Bir Delinin Rüyası (original name Beni Bulan Var mı?), which took the subject of the loneliness of the metropole people. Last but not least, Murat Ergün, catched the attention of theater lovers with his play Kiralık Oda (Room for Rent), which he turned into a one-man play, although the plot needs a full cast of actors. The play staged many time in the season of 2003/2004 and was welcomed by many people. Saying that he wants to create innovation in cinema, Murat Ergün reflected his different style to the cinema after the theater with his first cinama film Kiralık Oda (Room for Rent). Now he is shooting his new cinema screenplay Kacma (Don't run), which he wrote between 2017 and 2018. Currently he is preparing to be on stage with two different plays next year 2025 / 2026.
