Her debut song "Junai" was used in a commercial for Johnson & Johnson Baby Lotion, although she did not appear in the actual commercial. While the song garnered attention, her debut single did not sell well and her planned second single for June was shelved. She wrote the lyrics for the song herself. Following this, she joined the Sakura Club Sakura Group and changed her name to Makoto Kurosawa.
