Before becoming a voice actor, he was a professional boxer affiliated with Kyoei Boxing Gym. When he graduated from high school, he moved to Tokyo with the goal of becoming an actor. He then started going to a gym because he believed that an actor should also train his body. At first it was just to exercise, but later he became interested in getting a professional license. He debuted at the age of 24 and was active as a professional boxer for 3 years.
