She wanted to study law or engineering, but her family encouraged her to study acting. She graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus. As a student at the Institute, she participated with director Mohamed Malas in the movie Al-Layl. Her first work after graduation was in the television series Dreams Deferred in 1992.
