He is the only son of veteran producer, Madhampatty Sivakumar and is the nephew of noted actor Sathyaraj, whilst Sibiraj is his cousin. Making his acting debut in 1999 with a lead role in Ilayavan, he subsequently has been appearing mainly in supporting and comedic roles in over fifty Tamil films.
